Apocalypse Now – The Four Horsemen

Official trailer for the long-awaited album from The Four Horsemen (Killah Priest, Ras Kass, Canibus, Kurupt) which is apparently due for release this summer.

This project has been in the pipeline for years so could end up being one of the biggest anti-climax releases in Hip-Hop history – but if it’s been done right and the crew have secured top-notch production and actually collaborated on the project properly rather than just throwing together random verses then this could still be a strong album,

All Hail The Queen – Teena Marie

Not the usual content you might expect to find here on Old To The New, but Teena Marie has been my favourite female vocalist since I first discovered her as a young kid back in the early-80s and hearing the news of her recent passing at the age of just 54 was both shocking and extremely sad.

An amazingly talented musician and singer, the classy R&B songstress also loved her Hip-Hop, having worked with, and been sampled by, the likes of Ludacris, Kurupt, Common and The Fugees – in this recent BlackTree Media footage shot in October the “Ivory Queen Of Soul” gives props to greats such as EPMD and KRS-One whilst encouraging new artists to learn the craft of lyricism.

R.I.P. Teena Marie (1956 – 2010) – a woman who gave the world incredible, beautiful music that will live on forever.
